S.A.F.E. Program Registration

SAFE Registration for the 24-25 School Year begins April 1, 2024.

To apply for a spot in the SAFE program for your RRPS K-5 student, please do the following.

  1. Complete the SAFE Registration form.

  2. Look for an email from the SAFE coordinator (check for formsite.)

  3. Make requested payment of $75 registration fee when prompted to do so by the SAFE coordinator.

  4. Complete payment for Week or Quarter 1 prior to the first day of SAFE.

Keep in mind that some sites fill up quickly, and may add your child to the waitlist depending on space.

Below you will find S.A.F.E. program registration information and requirements details:

  1. For a student to enroll in a S.A.F.E. program, the student must be enrolled at the same Rio Rancho Public Schools elementary school in which the S.A.F.E. program is located. For example, a Vista Grande Elementary School student can only register and attend the S.A.F.E. program at Vista Grande Elementary School.

  2. For one week in the spring, S.A.F.E. opens pre-registration for the coming school year. This is done ONLY online and you must fill out the entire form. We strongly encourage families to complete the spring pre-registration. If the site is full OR the it is outside of the registration window (March-May), you will be added to the waitlist. As spots open, the waitlisted students will be added and you will be notified of your spot.

  3. If a family does not register his/her child during spring pre-registration. Registration is ongoing throughout the school year, depending upon the availability of space in your child's S.A.F.E. program.

  4. S.A.F.E. enrollment is considered complete when the family completes the online registration and application form and has paid the non-refundable $75 (per student) registration fee after the registration form has been accepted. Payment does NOT confirm registration, as registration is confirmed by open spot availability or the site coordinator's acceptance from the waitlist.

  5. We accept online payments that are electronic checks; enter your routing number and bank information ($ .45 fee). We use an encrypted website. A higher fee will be incurred if you pay with a credit/debit card.

  6. If you cannot complete the registration process online, please work with the site coordinator of your child's school. He or she will make a computer available to complete the online registration.

  7. After completing the online registration application, the parent will receive an email, either a confirmation or notifying the parent that the child is on a waiting list.

  8. Please note that enrollment is determined on a first-come, first basis. Online registration forms are time and date-stamped.

  9. When a S.A.F.E. site is full and the family has completed an online registration/application, an email will be sent stating that the child or children are on a waiting list. If you receive such an email, do not pay the registration fee, as it is non-refundable. Please pay the registration fee when you either receive an email that your child is admitted to the S.A.F.E. program or the S.A.F.E. coordinator contacts you that your child is being moved off the waiting list because space is available.

  10. We encourage families to complete the online registration/application during the pre-registration window and fill out the entire form. The S.A.F.E. coordinator will retain the information, and your student(s) will either be enrolled or placed on a waiting list.

  11. S.A.F.E. registration must be completed each year. Do not assume that because your child was in S.A.F.E. during the current year, the child will automatically be registered for the coming year. Only students whose parents have completed the registration/application for the coming year and received a confirmation email or call/email from the coordinator stating as much are enrolled.

  12. When space becomes available, the S.A.F.E. coordinator will communicate with families on the waiting list. A link to the online payment system will be provided to expedite payment of the $75 per child registration fee and your student’s enrollment in the S.A.F.E. Program.

  13. All children who attend S.A.F.E. must possess independent toileting skills.
