In partnership with the UNM College of Education & Human Sciences, RRPS is hosting two teacher residency information events all about how prospective teachers can become a teacher resident with RRPS!
RRPS teacher residencies are open to graduate and undergraduate students who are interested in becoming teachers. Residents undergo a paid, year-long apprenticeship with an experienced co-teacher, in preparation for a 3-year commitment to Rio Rancho Public Schools after the residency is over.
RRPS is accepting applications for teacher residents in the following licensure areas:
- Early Childhood (PK-3)
- Elementary (K-8)
- English/Language Arts (7-12)
- Mathematics (7-12)
- Science (7-12)
- Social Studies (7-12)
- Spanish Bilingual (K-12)
- Special Education (PK-12)
An in-person information event will take place on Tuesday, January 31, from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM at the RRPS Training Center at 500 Laser Rd NE in Rio Rancho.
