The Rams prevailed over 12 other teams at the state tournament, rolling a 583 series in the finals and barely holding off the Hawks. The Cleveland Storm handily captured third place honors.

This was the Rams third straight state championship, and their seventh since 2006. Between them, the two Rio Rancho schools (RRHS and Cleveland) have won every state 5A title except for one since 2009.
