Chief Communications, Strategy and Engagement Officer

The Chief Communications and Engagement Officer reports to the Superintendent of Schools and is a member of the Superintendent's Cabinet.  She and her staff are an adjunct of the Superintendent's office and are responsible for a wide range of activities related to the strategic direction of the district and informing and involving the public in school and district activities.  Some of these include:
  • Development, oversight, and administration of the district's strategic plan, including coordination of the "pillar" committees responsible for overseeing implementation of the plan. 
  • Outreach to and input from staff, parents and community; facilitation of the Superintendent's Advisory Council (SAC), the Community/Parent Advisory Team (CPAT), the Faith Based Partnership, the school boundary committee, and other groups as required. 
  • Representing the district with a variety of community organizations 
  • Conducting/coordinating surveys
  • Ongoing communication with state legislators and other government officials and participation in the legislative process as required
  • Public information and media relations
  • Sharing news about the district with the community via Facebook, the district website, through the media, and other means
  • Administration of the district's mass notification system
  • Coordination of school capital outlay and school board elections
  • Conducting community outreach activities, training, and forums
