Rio Rancho High School World History and Human Rights students recently collected mugs, cocoa mix and candy to create holiday gifts for New Mexico veterans. Then, with student volunteer assistance from the Key Club and National Honor Society, the gifts were wrapped and student messages were placed inside thanking veterans for their service and wishing them a happy holiday season. In total, the student and staff volunteers created 300 mug gifts which will be distributed at local VA hospitals and the New Mexico Veterans Memorial as a token of appreciation for our veterans.
It was a true team effort with two World History classes, a Human Rights class, Key Club members, National Honor Society members and even a local girl scout troop to put this project together. We’re so proud of all of the RRHS students and staff for pitching in and making sure our veterans know they are appreciated during the holiday season.
Special thanks to Ms. Gutierrez and Mr. Seiler for their leadership during this project. Great job Rio Rancho High School!
