SAFE Students from Joe Harris Elementary School pose for a photo in the gym after raising $200 for Animal Protection NM

"Giving Back" is the theme this month, and students and staff at the Joe Harris Elementary School SAFE Program focused their efforts on animals. Recently, the students in the SAFE Program, lead by SAFE Coordinator Daniel Zuniga, raised more than $200 for Animal Protection New Mexico. Mr. Zuniga told his students that for every dollar they raised, he'd run a lap in the gymnasium ... the incentive worked, and he did quite a few laps for a good cause. Thankfully, students and other staff members helped run the laps and collect funds alongside Mr. Zuniga.

Great job Joe Harris Elementary SAFE Program students and staff! We're so proud of your efforts and so happy to see you helping needy animals in our community.
