Students at Maggie Cordova Elementary School are getting a lesson in the value of Hispanic heritage.

In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, staff and students at Maggie Cordova Elementary recently set up a heritage display. The display highlights prominent Hispanic figures in history and shows off some cultural pieces brought in by students, including flags, serapes, pottery, sculptures, items honoring famous artists, ceremonial attire and much more. The display provides information in Spanish and English, and will remain in place through Oct. 15 so all students may celebrate the immense value that Hispanic culture and history brings to our community.
