School Board Election Information
On Tuesday, February 5, Rio Rancho Public Schools will hold a school board election to choose board members for School Board Districts 1, 3, and 5. These districts serve northern, southern, northeastern, and far western Rio Rancho. Voters may only vote for candidates in the district in which they reside. Districts 2 and 4 are not included in this election (they will select board members in 2015) and voters in those board districts are not eligible to vote. Polls will be open from 7 AM to 7 PM on Tuesday, February 5, and registered voters in school board districts 1, 3, and 5 and who have not voted early or absentee are eligible. Voters may cast a ballot at any of four polling places open on Election Day (Click here for interactive Google maps showing the locations of our elementary and middle schools):

- Enchanted Hills Elementary School, 5400 Obregon Rd. NE
- Maggie M. Cordova Elementary School, 1500 Veranda Rd. SE

Early in-person and absentee voting began on Friday, January 11. Voters wishing to vote absentee may request a ballot from the Sandoval County Elections Bureau any time before Friday, January 28 by calling 867-7577 or writing to the Sandoval County Bureau of Elections, P.O. Box 40, Bernalillo, NM, 87004. Absentee ballots must be in the possession of the Bureau of Elections no later than 7 PM on Election Day (Tuesday, February 5).
Voters wishing to vote early in-person or to drop off absentee ballots may do so at the Sandoval County Bureau of Elections, 1500 Idalia Road, Building D, Bernalillo, NM 87004 (near Idalia and NM 528) during regular business hours through Friday, February 1. The Bureau will be open until 7 PM on Election Day, February 5.
Only RRPS board polling place – Mountain View Middle School – is also a polling place for the Central New Mexico Community College (CNM) board election. Information on the CNM election may be found by clicking here.
