Billie and A.J. are not my real names. They are old nicknames.  When I asked this student, "What did you do this weekend?" The student showed me this poem. I responded, "We need to get this published!"

This is a very insightful and powerful poem. The meaning is very abstract.  The poet paints with words in this assignment for a Language Arts class. As a reader, I picked up the feeling conveyed so passionately.

I wrote this in one night: hurrying to finish and memorize it, I did not think I would get a good grade. Instead I am on the website with a 100% A+.  This student picked shell-shaped soap out of a grab bag and wrote this poem. I enjoyed this student's sense of humor and voice that stands out in this piece.

The students were given the theme of love and asked to create a poem with 8 or more lines. I enjoyed the rough draft and expressed this to the student who went home and created this final draft.

My teacher is the best and gave us this fun assignment. I thought it was fun because we got to do whatever we wanted to do on our Haiku. It made me think hard because I wanted to do a good job, and I also want to do a great job on all my other work.  This student's work is exemplary and shows creativity and thoughtfulness.

I was inspired by my kitties playing with a toy mouse.  My student's work showed great strength and artistry.

This student did an amazing job taking elements from the novel, Tuck Everlasting, and using them in this flyer persuading people not to drink water that gives them immortality. Students named the water - and adverstised it in a previous assignment. This took the opposing view.

From the perspective of Bud: Write a letter of complaint to the authorities, explaining why the Amos's should not be allowed to act as foster parents.  What vivid voice!

The NARRATIVE Genre:

Narration tells a story; if done effectively the reader shares and relives the writer’s experience.

I liked this project because it was much more fun to do than an essay, and I got to put my own creative twist based on a historical event.  Santa Fe Diary was exceptionally done with research and attention to detail.

I wrote this story because I enjoy action and thrill in the books that I read and movies that I watch.  I have been begging this student for one of this student's stories all year. I have been told this is a Christmas Present- and after reading the story, I have to say it is one of my favorite gifts. I'm looking forward to Part Three!

I thought of this book one night, and when I showed it to my teacher she said she loved it. Publishing it was her idea, but I love it.  This writer hooked me with the first sentence of In the Face of Time and then cleverly held my attention with the advanced ability of creating imagery through strong word choice. I can't wait to find out what happens to Evie Challenger in Chapter 2.
