"Rio Rancho Middle School"...RRPS' 4th Middle School!
As this school year draws to a close and the summer approaches, Rio Rancho Mid-High is undergoing a transformation. In conjunction with the opening of V. Sue Cleveland High School, a new middle school will open in the current Rio Rancho Mid-High. We are in the process of converting the current 8th and 9th grade campus to be ready to welcome 6th, 7th, and 8th graders next year.

PARENT NIGHT coming April 29th 6:00 PM in the Rio Rancho Mid-High School Gymnasium, (1600 40th Ave. NE.) -- View the Flyer! This is your chance to see the campus and meet some of our staff members. We will do a brief presentation on our vision for the school and be able to answer any questions you may have, and take a tour of the site!
Due to Spring Break and the SBA testing, this year we were unable to come visit each feeder school to complete registration with the incoming students. So, we are mailing families a registration form and course descriptions for your child’s grade level. Should you receive materials for the incorrect grade level, please contact me (see below) and we will correct our records and get you whatever you may need. There are certain classes that require a contract or application. We will also have copies available at the parent night. Here are the registration forms by grade level (pdf - Reader required):
To complete the registration form, please review the related arts course descriptions with your child.
- Each child will have four semesters worth of related arts each year. You and your child will rank his/her top six choices for related arts. This will allow us some flexibility for scheduling if one of his/her choices is no longer available.
- Please note: two semesters of PE must be taken during middle school. You may choose which grade you would prefer this to occur or your child could take one semester over two years if you prefer.
We would like to have registration complete and student schedules done by the middle of May so it is important that the registration forms are returned to us as soon as possible. Please bring them to the parent night and turn them then. If you are unable to attend, you can have your child turn them in to his/her current teacher and we will collect them from the feeder schools. If we do not receive a registration form from your child, we will schedule him/her in whatever classes are available.
We look forward to meeting you at parent night on April 29th. See you then!

As the planning moves forward, we will be inviting parents and community members to provide input on the transition.
In the meantime, if you have any suggestions or thoughts, please do not hesitate to contact me. My contact information is listed below.
See you soon!
Sincerely,
Amy Torres
