Summer School Classes will be held at the Rio Rancho High School campus. View the summer session calendar here.
Registration will be at the Mid High School campus.
Credits: Students in grades 9 through 12 may earn one credit for summer school courses, including remedial and elective classes. No credits are earned for eighth grade remedial courses.
Course Offerings: All Core Classes including English, Social Studies, Science, Math, and Pathfinders. Also, a Spanish Language Summer Institute will also be offered for students needing to recover a Foreign Language Credit. View the complete list here.
Advancement: Courses at the next grade level will be available for student advancement only with counselor’s approval. Please bring proof of having fulfilled prerequisites.
REGISTRATION:
- Forms – Registration Forms and Scholarship Applications will be available at Rio Rancho Mid-High School and Rio Rancho High School.
- Location – Registration for Summer School will be held only at the times and locations specified below.
- Fees – Must be paid via cash, money order, or cashiers check. Personal checks will not be accepted.
- Refunds – Refunds will not be given after June 2nd. Individual circumstances will be reviewed with documentation.
- Identification – All students must provide a photo identification card at registration.
- Documentation – Students repeating a course must bring documentation from a counselor where they are currently enrolled.
- Financial Aid - There will be a limited number of partial scholarships available for students who demonstrate financial need. Financial aid is available to RRPS students as well as to students from other New Mexico school districts. Application forms are available below. Scholarship applications and supporting documentation must be submitted by May 15, 2008. If the scholarship application is denied or a partial scholarship is granted, the student will be eligible for a payment plan requiring an initial deposit of $50.00 (payable by money order or cashier’s check only). The student will receive no credit if any remaining balance is unpaid as of the June 24, 2008. NO full scholarships will be available.

NOTE: In order to take the next level in any course, the student must have received a grade of “C” or higher in the prerequisite course. Please bring proof of having fulfilled prerequisites.
CLASS INFORMATION:
- Dates –
May 29, 2008 through June 27, 2008 (Thursday through Friday for first week, M-F for the rest)
- Class Times –
7:30am – 12:30pm (Grades 8 through 12: Two blocks of the same course daily: 7:30am-10:00am and 10:10am-12:30pm) 5 hours per day – 5 days per week – for 4.2 weeks – for one class/one credit
- Attendance –
Students absent more than 2 (ACCUMULATED) days will be withdrawn without credit or refund.
- Dress Code –
The Rio Rancho Public Schools dress code policy will apply. Parking A Parking Application must be completed, and an administrative fee of $5.00 must be paid.

ITEMS NEEDED FOR REGISTRATION:
- Student photo identification card or driver’s license.
- Completed registration form with signature of parent/guardian AND signature of school counselor whether course is being taken to replace a low / failing grade or for advancement.
- Note: If the student will be parking a vehicle on campus, a Parking Application must be completed and a $5.00 administrative fee must be paid. The student must provide a copy of: driver’s license, vehicle registration, and insurance card.

These forms are also available at Rio Rancho Mid-High School,
Rio Rancho High School. Completed applications and payment (money
order or cashier’s check only – no cash, personal
checks, or credit cards), as well as the student’s
photo identification card or driver’s license, must
be presented at registration. Applications must be signed
by a parent and by a counselor at the school where the student
is enrolled.
