Polling Place Information for
School Board Election on February 6, 2007

Voters in two Rio Rancho school board districts will choose school board members during an election on Tuesday, February 6, 2007.

Registered voters in Rio Rancho school board districts 2 and 4 are eligible to cast ballots (see map). Early voting is now underway and continues through Friday, February 2 during regular business hours at the Sandoval County Bureau of Elections, 711 Camino Del Pueblo, Bernalillo, NM 87004. Voters may request absentee ballots from the Bureau of Elections by calling 867-7577 or writing to the bureau. Absentee ballots must be returned and in the hands of the elections officials by 7pm on February 6.

  • Martin Scharfglass (incumbent, biography)- Votes: 130 **Winner**
  • Sabrina E. Vidaurri- Votes: 101
District 4 Candidates (incumbent Kathy Jackson is not running for re-election):
  • Wesley Ray Daniels (biography)- Votes: 58
  • Steve Dietzel (biography)- Votes: 80
  • Richard T. Gomez- Votes: 32
  • Divyesh N. Patel (biography)- Votes: 274 **Winner**

The five Rio Rancho school board members are elected by geographic district and serve staggered four-year terms. By state statute, school board elections are held on the first Tuesday in February.

Districts 2 and 4 are in the heart of Rio Rancho. District 2 lies between Idalia Rd. and Southern Blvd, with the western boundary approximately at Ivory Rd. and the east boundary approximately at Nickaus Dr, Parr Rd., Silent Spring Rd, and Fruta Rd. District 4 is east of district 2 between the Arroyo de los Montoyas and Southern Blvd, and includes the western and southern portions of Corrales Heights.
