Meet Our Head Coach
Coach Gordon Douglas
Coach Gordon Douglas has been with the Rio Rancho High School Men’s Tennis program since it’s inception in 1997. Coach Douglas has a lengthy history as a technician in the sport of tennis, having been a USTA member since 1975, and a USPTA member since 1995. Gordon is a former USTA umpire and a Qualified Varifier whose career as a tennis instructor began in Florida where he worked with junior and adult players.
A four year period of time beginning in 1987 saw Coach Douglas working with Coach Kathy Kolankowitz and the LOBO Women’s Tennis squad. Beginning in 1995, Coach Douglas served as an assistant men’s tennis coach with Cibola High School until 1997, when he undertook the reigns of the Rio Rancho Men’s Tennis program while also coaching the boy’s and girl’s teams at Eagle Ridge Middle School and organizing various summer tennis camps in Rio Rancho for juniors. Teams under the tutelage of Coach Douglas have achieved an overall win percentage of 68%.
Whatever you choose, do it with your heart and soul and you can't help but succeed! Not many people are willing to give that much.
