Coach Jason Black

Coach Jason Black is entering his fifth season as the Rio Rancho High School Men’s Golf coach beginning in this capacity in 2003.  Coach Black came to Rio Rancho after working as the Assistant Golf Professional at Chamisa Hills Country Club in Rio Rancho turning pro in 2003.  

In his four years at the helm, the Rio Rancho Men's golf team has compiled two first, one second, and one third place finishes in the New Mexico AAAAA state golf championships.  Additionally, Coach Black has led his team to four consecutive District I-AAAAA championships with the Rams poised to claim a fourth.

Coach Black has earned his undergraduate degree in E-Business and his Master's of Education degree in Secondary Education.

The 2006-2007 Rio Rancho Men’s Golf program finished as the State AAAAA Champions and as the District I-AAAAA Champions. 

The Ram golfers will return two players from the 2006-2007 season. All-State golfer Chris Ortiz (junior) and Cody Ward (sophomore). Returning players are Brennan Artrip, Matthew Juarez, Corey Landry, Weston Marton, Tyler Victor. The newcomers are yet to be determined. This will be a rebuilding year, but the Rams fully expect to be one of the top teams once again.
