Sal Puentes will be missed by the Ram baseball program and Rio Rancho community. Sal was a great person on the field, at school and in the community. In 2002 Sal was named as the best athlete at RRHS. Coach Murphy says" Sal was the kid everybody hopes their own son turns out like. He was a very respectful young man who had something positive to say about everybody. Sal was the ultimate team player. A day does not go by where I don't think about Sal and how much we miss him. "
