Coach Lovato is in his fourth year with the program, third with the C-Team. He began his time with the program coaching Eagle Ridge Middle School where he enjoyed a very successful year. He was then moved up to C-Team and has had much of the same success. He graduated from West Mesa in 1993, went on to attend college at Arizona State University and later began his coaching career at West Mesa. He coached their C-Team for one year before he went on to decide what it was he wanted to do, play or coach. He was fortunate enough to have been able to work out with MLB pitcher Pedro Martinez and pitching coach Claude Osteen when they were with the Albuquerque Dukes. He also worked out with many Independent League teams as well as MLB teams. He is not married nor does he have any children. He life has basically been all about baseball and trying to learn and grow as much as he can each day. He has recently opened and started his own real estate brokerage called Latte Stone Realty. He has been in real estate for the last 3 years, mainly because it allows him the time needed to coach. He loves helping the boys grow and wants to try to give them opportunities he never had as a player. Growing up he played basketball, football and other sports but knew that baseball is what he wanted to concentrate on. His ulitmate goal is to become a Head Coach someday. Dustin Fields is entering his second year with the Rams baseball program. He and his wife Shelby, who is a claims adjuster for Allstate Insurance, moved to Albuquerque last year and will be married two years this July. They have no children, but do have two cats, a dog, and a horse. Fields teaches Humanities at Rio Rancho Mid-High. Last year he led the 8th grade blue team to a 10-2 record, which included winning the Los Alamos Tournament at the end of the season. He is currently working with the JV team this season. Fields is also an assistant coach for the Rams football program. Fields has always had a strong love for the game of baseball. A prime example of this is when Fields, his parents, and many other members of his senior class finally won over the school board in the spring of 1994. They fought hard for the creation of a baseball program and have maintained a well respected baseball program ever since. Fields, a member of the first baseball team ever at Memphis High School, was also the schools first MVP. Memphis High School is located in Memphis Texas, which is a small town about 90 miles east of Amarillo. Along with his mom and dad (Jimmy and Rhonda Fields) he has two younger brothers (Kevin and Brandin) that are married and still reside in Memphis. Both brothers were standout players for Memphis High as well. After graduating from Memphis High School, Fields went on to graduate from West Texas A&M University in Canyon, TX. He returned home to Memphis to coach for one season before moving to Albuquerque last year.
