General School Information

Help Rio Rancho Get Its Fair Share!

This spring, by spending 10 minutes or less answering 10 simple questions, you could help raise millions of dollars for your schools and your city!

Every ten years, the U.S. Census Bureau counts the country’s population as required by the U.S. Constitution.  The data collected is used to allocate hundreds of billions of dollars in federal funds to local communities.  RRPS District Census Information...

Rio Rancho’s population has grown by more than 25,000 residents since the last census, and the school district by more than 6,500 students.  Schools and the community are not currently getting their fair share of money from the federal government, since the funds are allocated on the basis of 2000 census information.

Census data is also used to draw federal, state legislative, and local government districts – which means Rio Rancho is currently underrepresented in federal and state government.  An accurate census count of every Rio Rancho resident will most likely qualify our community and our schools for more money and a bigger voice in government policy making.

So when the census form shows up at your home in mid-March, fill it out and send it in!  Census data is confidential and individuals’ answers are not shared with any other agencies, including law enforcement, the Internal Revenue Service, and immigration.

For more information on the census, visit www.2010census.gov
