Celebrating Our Heritage
November 28, 2008 has been designated as National Native American Appreciation Day to recognize the contributions Native American people have made to our country. In observance of that, Mountain View Middle School will celebrate our Native American Heritage on Nov. 25. Native American students will be allowed to dress in traditional attire on this day. Students can also share something about their culture (information, traditional food, etc.) with their class. The Native American Club will create a display. I am seeking a student who can recite the Pledge of Allegiance in their native language to recite the Pledge on Nov. 25. Please join us for our parent meeting on Nov. 17 to discuss preparations and ideas.
