7th and 8th graders have begun a new unit on Peer Pressure.  Talk to your kiddo about this subject and any pressures they may want to share with you.

6th graders are revisiting the Disasters Unit, and the concepts of Main Idea and supporting details.

January and February we will continue our unit on Child Labor.  We are practicing test taking strategies in the content areas and continuing to read novels together. 

On November 4 we will begin our new classroom unit on "Disasters."  Please discuss current and past natural disasters with your student, and tell them any stories you have about surviving or seeing disasters in your lifetime.

On October 12 we will begin our classroom unit on "The New Americans."  Please invite conversation with your student about imigration and American culture today. 

 

READ 180 is a comprehensive reading intervention program designed to meet the needs of students in elementary through high school whose reading achievement is below the proficient level.
