Class Activities or News:

1.  Right now we are in the midst of a continuing investigation into the different types and uses of Figurative Language in literature.

The figurative language we are focusing on includes:

  • Metaphor
  • Simile
  • Personification
  • Hyperbole
  • Onomatopoeia
  • Alliteration
  • Idiom
  • Imagery
  • Symbolism

2.  Click the calendar to see the schedule for the 3rd and final round of book talks.

3.  As we prepare for the SBA and 8th grade, my Language Arts students will be spending most of the remaining instructional time learning to read and respond to literature in a formal way.  This will involve reading and mature interactions with classmates and may involve a little assigned reading outside of class.
