Students need the following items everyday for school:

Agenda, Novel, Science Notebooks & Purple workbooks, Pen and Pencil, Paper, High lighter.

Please be sure that your student has the necessary materials to be successful at school.

 

Curricular Focus:

I have started to use a learning strategy called "POK", The pyramid of Knowledge. Students are able to choose their assignments to show mastery of concepts learned in class. Some of this project will need to be completed at home, especially if they get behind or don't use their time wisely. Be looking for the POK handouts to see what we are currently learning in class!

Students will be learning about physical science. This will include physics and chemistry. We will be using a interactive science notebook this year. The notebook includes right side pages being the input (or the class notes & projects) and the left side being the interactive side the students will use to work with the information presented in class. Most of the homework will be completed in this notebook. Please have students keep track of this notebook and have it in class everyday.

 

Grading Policy

Starting Feb. 1, Students will be recieving a daily grade on promptness, writing utensil, Interactive Notebook, behavior, and effort made during class.

 

Please note that student will be taking the District and State test (SCA, NWEA, SBA). They will also be responsible for taking unit and final tests in every core class!
