Pre-Algebra:
Curricular Focus
Pre-Algebra students are learning about integer concepts; including absolute value, variables, equations, inequalities, and integer operations. We will be using the Prentice Hall Pre-Algebra textbook and workbook.
Students have checked out a textbook from the library and are responsible for it. Every student has received a copy of the Prentice Hall Pre-Algebra workbook, from which most homework will be assigned. We have a very limited supply of texts and workbooks, so if these are lost, students are responsible for the cost of replacement.
Students will need to have their textbook, workbook, and Interactive Math Notebook for class daily.

Additional Resource
For help with Pre-Algebra concepts at home, you may wish to invest in a copy of Pre-Algebra Demystified by Allan Bluman. The ISBN for this resource is 9780071439312. You may find a gently used copy on eBay for about $8.
Please check agendas daily for homework assigned in class. Homework is due the day after it is assigned (except Math Mates).
MATH MATES
Students have been given a set of Math Mates. One Math Mate is assigned every week. Math Mates are due every Friday. This is a skill building assignment that we will continually use.You will practicewhole number operations, fractions, decimals, percents, measurement, algebra, data analysis, probability, geometry, and problem solving.
You can get help with Math's Mate and practice specific skills at www.mathsmate.net(click here).
