Class Activities or News:

We are currently reading the play THE DIARY OF ANNE FRANK.  This play was written in response to the actual diary of Anne Frank.  It includes direct passages from Anne's diary.

As a part of this unit, students are learning about some of the background that led up to the Frank family going into hiding. Students have a list of "Holocaust" terms and we have discussed some of the atrocities that took place during the Nazi reign in Europe.

Our grammar focus this quarter is punctuation--commas, semi-colons, colons, quotation marks, hyphens, & apostrophes. 

Students will be expected to write a five paragraph persuasive essay each quarter this year.
