4th 9 week classroom Instructional Objectives: Students will compare and contrast the geographic, political, econominc and social characteristics of the Middle Ages, to include but not limited to Medieval China, Medieval Africa and Medieval Europe.

Class Activities or News:

Essential Learning Question for the 4th Quarter: Does the feudal system still exist in our world today?

 

SS objective:Students will compare and contrast the structures of government from the Middle Ages to present day.

Instructions: Students will be focusing on World History and Geography this year. The students will be introduced to a variety of teaching strategies, including but not limited to; Cornell notes, reading and answering questions, smart board activities, group activities and individual projects.

WORLD GEOGRAPHY CLASS                                               MS. REID     

                                          Ancient Feudalism Project

 

Students will research recipes and shield of the feudalistic society of Medieval Europe

Project due:    May 20

Students are required to do a Family Coat of Arms (Heraldry)

Students are required to bring in a medieval recipe for the students to eat.

       Recipe should feed 15-20 people.

 

Project Schedule:

April 26th-28th:    Research in library for recipe and coat of arms

April 30th-May 14th:    Create coat of arms in class.

May 20:    Medieval Feast and Game Day

                  Students bring and present recipe

 

Students with unacceptable behavior will not be allowed to participate on May 20th.  Any student that receives a referral after April 23, 2010 will be excluded from the feast.

 


World History Ms. Reid

Students will not be able to turn in any late assignments that is more than a week late.  This includes quizzes and test.  Teachers will post missing assignment lists every week of the assignments that are eligible to be made up. The make-up work will be due Friday of that week.  All makeup work will receive a 50% reduction in grading as a penalty for being late. The only exception is for absent work

 Only students absent will have an extra day to turn in assingments.
