Instructional Objectives:
The JAG Program model will help students improve employability skills and knowledge and develop job readiness skills that employers believe are fundamental to success on the job, including: personal motivation, ability to work in a group setting and cummunication skills. The main objectives of this course are to (1) help students graduate from high school, (2) seek post-secondary education, (3) obtain a job, and/or (4) get started on solid career path.

Being a guest speaker in the classroom or at special program events
Granting permission to conduct field trips
Providing opportunities for job shadowing

Providing assistance with mock interviews
Serving as a competitive event judge at local or state Career Development Conference
Serving on a business advisory council
Employing graduates in quality jobs with advancement opportunities

JAG Students Take Honors at New Mexico CDC
Five Independence High School students attended the April 25, 2009 Career Development Conference at the CNM Workforce Trining Center. The students competed in the following events: Employability Skills (1st place),
Career Display, (1st place), Public Speaking (2nd place), and Cover Design (3rd place). A career fair and guest speaker provided motivational information to the students attending.
