IHS News: Classes begin August 12.

Extended School will be offered for seniors needing to finish up credits to graduate.
There is a $100 fee (cash only) and a fee for E2020 classes over the summer to be paid by 5/24/2010.
Students applying to I H S need to provide:
- Original Birth Certificate
- Shot Record
- Transcript
- Discipline Report
- Attendance Report
- Verification of residence (PNM bill)
There is a waiting list of approximately 200 students to get into I H S, at this time.

Independence High School is dedicated to graduating each student with a state standards based education, the desire to continually improve, promote hope and unity, and become an active participant of a global community.

Enrollment
Rio Rancho Public Schools' Alternative High School is for students who work, are behind on credits, or are teen parents. The school's enrollment stands at around 250 students. The school is staffed by one administrator, one counselor, two office clerical staffers, one nurse and sixteen certified teachers. The school offers a fully licensed child development center. It also offers mediation services to parents and students.
