Here is what we're learning:

Math: 

In math this week we will be learning about the "ten more/ten less" number pattern on number grids.  In addition, we will also be reviewing base ten numbers with base ten blocks and pictures.  In Every Day Math we will be playing addition top it. We will also be playing turn over ten on Wednesday morning. Lastly, we will be reviewing money and our RISE (problem solving method!

Language Arts:

In Language Arts this week we begin reading the story, The Mixed- Up Chameleon, by Eric Carie in our text book during guided reading instruction time.   On Friday we will be taking a reading comprehension test about this story.

Also, This week we will begin practicing our sentence/paragraph structure.  We are also working on pre-writing/planning (story webs) to help us with our writing.  We are working on studying our weekly words using phonics and we are also learning words from our word wall.  We will also be creating a book about sentence types (telling, asking, command, and exclaim).

Social studies:  This month we will be learning about rules/laws.  We will be coming out with our own classroom rules and mission statement.  In addition, we will also be learning about maps and globes.  Lastly, we will be learning about community workers and how they help out in our community.
