Now that the ACCESS testing for language proficiency is done I want to thank all the teachers and students for their patience and cooperation. Everyone did an outstanding job. Test results from this testing should be provided by the end of the year in order to help us with next year’s student placement.

With testing done I can now go back to what I love, being with the kids. During the month of February we will be starting two very exciting theme units. One will be Valentines Day and the other will be verbs and their conjugations. In Spanish the teaching of verbs and verb conjugation is very important. We have already begun to talk about the different words we must use because of who is doing the speaking and the time in which the action is done. This is going to be a long process and I am not expecting that everyone will get it right away. Students who are native speakers of Spanish often find this very difficult and are often confused when they are asked to explain when and why they need to use certain words. We just have to remember that we are all learning together.

In reviewing the past 6 months, I am very pleased, happy and excited at the progress of the students within the 4 classrooms. All of the students are doing a terrific job and are amazing me and their teacher’s everyday. We hope that this experience has been as rewarding for them as it has been for us. We are already thinking about next year and are wanting parent input as to this years program and possible ideas for next years program. We will be adding several questions relating to the CAE Bilingual and ESL program in the Quality of Education Survey. Please take the time to give us your feedback.  

Ahora que la prueba del ACCESO para el conocimiento de idiomas es hecho yo quiera agradecer todos los profesores y estudiantes por su paciencia y cooperación. Cada uno hizo un trabajo excepcional. Los resultados de la prueba de esta prueba se deben proporcionar antes de fin de año para ayudarnos con la colocación del estudiante del próximo año.

Con la prueba hecha puedo ahora volver qué amo, a estar con los estudiantes. Durante el mes de febrero comenzaremos dos unidades muy emocionantes del tema. Uno será día de San Valentín y la otra será verbos y sus conjugaciones. En español la enseñanza de verbos y de la conjugación del verbo es muy importante. Hemos comenzado a hablar de las diversas palabras que debemos utilizar y a quién está haciendo el discurso y el tiempo y en los cuales se hace la acción. Éste va a ser un proceso largo y no estoy contando que cada uno lo consiga enseguida. Los estudiantes que son nativos del español encuentran este muy difícil y son a menudo a menudo confusos cuando les piden explicar cuando y porqué necesitan utilizar ciertas palabras. Apenas tenemos que recordar que somos todos que aprenden juntos.

En el repaso de los últimos 6 meses, soy muy contento, y feliz, y emocionado en el progreso de los estudiantes dentro de las 4 salas de clase. Todos los estudiantes están haciendo un trabajo fabuloso y son asombrosos yo y su profesor de la clase. Esperamos que esta experiencia haya sido con tanta satisfacción para ellos como ha estado para nosotros. Estamos pensando en próximo año y estamos queriendo ya los comentaros del padre sobre de este programa y de los ideas posibles para el programa siguiente. Agregaremos varias preguntas referentes al programa del bilingüe y del ESL del CAE en la calidad de la encuesta sobre la educación. Por favor darnos su regeneración. Gracias
