Reading

  Please remember to read with your child at least 15 minutes every night.  Miss Chris and I love giving out stickers to kiddos who bring their reading bags back.  I can’t wait until the end of the month to hand out Star Reader Awards (200 or more minutes a month).  Remember you can read to or with your child.

We are working very hard on blending our letter sounds into words and reading more fluently!

Writing

We have been working very hard on writing 7-up sentences (sentences with 7 or more words in them).  We are also working on remembering capitals and punctuation on our sentences. This month we are writing about the things we are thankful for. Please take a minute to talk with your child about all of the things they have to be thankful for.

Math

 

We are working on adding numbers faster using Touch Math and manipulatives. Please continue to help your child complete the nightly math minutes.   

Science and Social Studies

  In Science we are learning about soils and rocks. In SS we are going to be talking about the first Thanksgiving and the pilgrims voyage to America.  We will talk about the differences between children’s jobs then and now.
