Here is what we will be working on for the month of November:
Math:
- Counting to 110 by 1's
- Read and write numbers to 50
- Extend, describe and create patterns
- Identify and describe shapes: circle, square, triange, rectangle, hexagon, trapezoid, rhombus, oval
- Estimation
- Skip counting by 2's, 5's, and 10's
- Patterns and graphing
Reading and Writing: 
- Recognizing and writing letters: I, A, G, F
- Recognizing sight words: to, on (continue to practice: my, I, like, we, go)
- Word families: -am, -at, -ap, -it
- Journal writing
- Handwriting
- Writing our last name's
Science: 
Earth Science Kit:
- Observe and describe the relative sizes and characteristics of objects (Bigger, brighter, louder, smellier)
- Observe that things move in many different ways
- Observe how energy does things
- Use the senses to observe surroundings and describe the observations
- Observe that there are many things in the night sky and that some are brighter than others
- Describe the location and movements of objects in the sky
- Observe that changes in weather occur from day to day and season to season
- Observe that the sun warms the land and water and they warm the air

Homework:
Homework calendar will be sent home in November. Please complete the activity listed for each night. You do not have to turn in the assignments. If the calendar is returned to school at the end of the month with each day marked as completed, your child will receive a prize!
If you would like more homework practice for your child, you can purchase workbooks from stores such as:
Wal*Mart, Target, K-Mart, Walgreens, Office Max, Office Depot, Staples, Learning Is Fun (Menual just west of San Mateo).
