On Tuesday March 2nd the students took home information on the SBA testing that begins the day we return from Spring Break. I included a letter from the Administration, a schedule of the testing dates with the particular test/s that will be taken that day. Students have some math work to do over the break and will be given extra credit when it is completed and returned to me on March 22nd.

Lunch Bag State Projects
Students chose a state to research during the 3rd quarter. They were given specific instructions as to what information needed to be included. The project consisted of creating a "State Lunch Bag". For example, the bread for the sandwich was an outline map of the state, showing the state capital and three major cities. The cheese on the sandwich told us about the population of their state. All the lunch items were kept in a brown lunch bag to be shared with the class during an oral presentation. The students received a rubric, along with the directions for the project, in order for them to know exactly what was required and how they were going to be graded. All work was completed at school using the internet and the library as resources. The student filled out their rubric and I filled out mine. Ask them to share their State Lunch with you.
Homework:
It is so important for your child to have their agenda with them daily. Homework is usually assigned Monday - Thursday.
During the SBA testing no homework will be given and there will be no other tests for the two week period. We will resume weekly spelling and reading tests during the week of April 5-9th.
