Parents,

We are quickly approaching the end of the school year!  It’s hard to believe that this year of first grade is almost over for your students.  They have made so much progress just over the past few weeks.  It is exciting to watch them everyday as they continue to learn and grow.

Over the next few weeks we will be learning many things:

In Math we are continuing to work on our addition and subtraction facts.  They have been learning about fact families, and have been using their fact triangles to help them practice.  They are also practicing using the addition and subtraction facts table.  We are continuing to learn about time and money as well.

In Spelling they are working on two new word families each week.  They are learning to make so many new words! 

In Writing I am looking to see that they are incorporating those spelling words into their stories.  At this point in the year they should be close to being able to write at least 3 sentences on one topic.
