The students in our classroom are doing a great job with their reading and other homework! We have started our reading groups now and they are going well. We will be learning many reading and language arts skills during reading groups. Daily reading is so important in that it develops fluency, comprehension, and vocabulary. Please be sure that your child brings their reading book back to school everyday so that we can use it during reading group. Thank you all so much for the help and support that you give your child's reading and other homework!

  • September 2: Picture Day
  • September 6: No School-Labor Day
  • September 16: BBQ Lunch-12:30 p.m.
  • September 30: Open House-6:00-7:00 p.m.

Class Activities or News:

 

Johnny Appleseed Day is on Friday, September 24th. On that day we will do a lot of fun learning activities involving apples and the Johnny Appleseed theme. I will ask each child to bring one apple. It will be fun!

 

 

 

 

 

 

Homework:

 

A weekly Homework Sheet will be stapled in each student's Notes/Homework Folder every Monday. Please refer to this sheet for daily homework.

We are continuing to work on names, the letters in names and the format for writing names. We are working on daily phonics review involving the sounds of letters and letter combinations. We are also learning to recite and memorize nursery rhymes.
