Host a Foreign Exchange Student
- Now is the perfect time for Rio Rancho families to consider the opportunity of hosting an exchange student next school year. We encourage families to start now by contacting one or more of our approved exchange programs. Our “International Rams” are important members of the student body, who can share their perspectives and cultural practices in classes and with your family. Hosting is a rich cultural experience for all concerned. Having seen our country from inside a family and over time, exchange students return to their home countries with a much fuller understanding of the United States. They come from many countries and can spend a school year or a semester living in American homes and attending RRHS.
- All of these exchange organizations have very similar goals: to achieve greater international understanding and peace. The students are 15-18 years old, have undergone an application process, have adequate English and medical insurance. Each program representative can explain the application process in more detail. Host families come in all shapes and sizes. You don’t have to have a high school age student. What matters most is the family’s willingness to open home and hearts and to welcome a new family member. Please think about it, and encourage your friends and neighbors to do so also. Your family can learn more about the world. You can make a difference in the world!

- The Rio Rancho Public Schools Tobacco Free Schools Program is once again offering FREE adult smoking cessation classes. if you have been thinking about quitting smoking, now is the perfect time to make it happen.
