Dustin Fields is entering his 3rd year with the Rams baseball program. He is currently the head coach of the JV team this season. He and his wife Shelby, who manages a claims department for Allstate Insurance, moved to Albuquerque two years ago and will be married three years this July. They have no children, but do have a dog named Henry, and a horse named Peyton Manning. Fields currently teaches World Geography/NM History at Rio Rancho Mid-High. In his first year at Rio Rancho he guided the 8th grade blue team to a 10-2 record, which included being crowned champions of the 8th grade Los Alamos Tournament. Last year Fields coached on the JV staff, and helped lead them to a record of 19-5 and a 2nd place finish in the APS/Rio Rancho JV city tournament.

Fields has always had a strong love for the game of baseball. A prime example was when Fields, his parents, and many other members of his senior class won over the Memphis High school board in the spring of 1994. They fought hard for the creation of a baseball program and have maintained a well respected baseball program ever since. Fields, a member of the first baseball team ever at Memphis High School, was also the schools first MVP. Memphis High School is located in Memphis Texas, which is a small town about 90 miles east of Amarillo. Along with his mom and dad (Jimmy and Rhonda Fields) he has two younger brothers (Kevin and Brandin) that are married and still reside in Memphis. Both brothers were standout baseball players at Memphis High as well. Fields graduated from West Texas A&M University.  His first three years of coaching and teaching have all been at Rio Rancho.  Fields is also an assistant coach for the Rams football program.
